The SAFE-project stands for “Supporting At-risk researchers with Fellowships in Europe”. It was developed because of the growing need to offer at-risk researchers worldwide the opportunity to continue their work in the EU in a safe environment. Up to 60 fellowships to non-EU at-risk researchers will be provided, which means researchers are offered a research stay at a European higher education and research institution for a period up to 24 months.
Details for the call for applications
The call for applications opens on 18 november 2024. Applications have to be submitted by the potential host organisation and host organisations can only send one application. Individual researchers cannot send in an application themselves.
Matchmaking service
Are you interested in hosting an at-risk researcher, but have you not identified suitable candidates? Part of the SAFE-project is a matchmaking service. This service will connect researchers at risk with host institutions in the EU and will assist host institutions in finding a researcher that fits their hosting offer.
SAFE-launch on the 19th of November
Are you interested in the SAFE-project? On the 19th of November, the SAFE-project will be launched during a webinar, from 14.00 to 15.30 CEST. The aim is to inform potential host institutions and researchers at risk about the call for applications. Please register before 18 November, if you would like to join this webinar.
